Obituary of Richard "Rip" Charles Green
It is with heavy hearts that the Green Girls share the passing of their husband and Dad, Rip (Richard) Green, on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Rip passed away quietly and peacefully in Lynn's arms, and his daughters, Cheryl (Aaron), Janet (Andrew) and Lindsay (Derek), arrived soon after to surround him with love and laughter. He was a fun and loving Grandpa to six "Shnooks"; Brock, Porter, Anna, Delilah, Bennet and Cecelia.
Rip was a frustrated golfer, a baseball player with a bad shoulder, an avid fisherman and proud to be the oldest player in the Scugog Men's Hockey League. He loved cruising in his new boat and the cottage won't be the same without him. Rip loved adventure - he backpacked Europe in his early twenties and recently crossed off one of his bucket list items when he took himself on a three week trip to Newfoundland. He was a good and kind man with a wry sense of humour. No longer in pain from cancer, we know that he has found peace. He will be greatly missed by his cats and dogs... oh, and the rest of us too. If you were on a team with Rip, wear a team shirt or hat on Friday!
A Visitation will be held at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Friday, May 13th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Rip had requested no service.
