We have wonderful memories of summer visits to the cottage and farm over the decades! What I loved about Anne and Ed was how talented, generous and hospitable they always were. So sorry to hear of Anne's passing. Hope to see you soon.

My deepest condolences to Ian and his family. I only met Anne a few times, but once in the late 1980s she and Ed were passing through Ottawa, and they visited me; I still remember distinctly how vibrant a person she was.

It was with sadness that I read of Anne's passing in the Globe and Mail this morning. I have known her for over 55 years both as a nurse, a potting instructor and friend. The family should be very proud of her wonderful life--well lived. Joan Martyn

What an intersting and talented woman!
Jack and I met her at an Elderhostel in Douglas, AZ, USA. years ago.. It was " love at first sight" when we met in a drawing class. Edgar and Jack gravitated together and from that point we did things togerher! We drove our tiny Tracer from MI but invited the two to check out Bisbee where an art colony had been for years and known for the Bisbee turquoise, i wish you could have seen the 4 of us: Anne and I stuffed in the back seat. and God only knows how Edgar got his huge frame in the front seat with Jack! It was
hilarious!
We really had only 4-5 days together but we made each minute count. Anne and I trried to satisfy the local artist the perspective of the mountains far away, the cacti , bushes, in midground, then the class itself in foreground. Anne had this HUGE hat on and I drew the little lady with the big hat in my sketch! I
still have it somewhere!
We found a couple good restaurants,,checked out the copper mine, now closed and just drove around and shared our stories!
Our hope was to get together but fate got in the way although we did write to each other.
In that brief repast we felt we had met lifelong friends!
God bless the Emerson family at this time! You had a wonderful mother, grandmother and a good friend! Love,,Jack and Joanne

I am saddened to hear of Anne's passing. I am happy though that her beautiful, loving and fiercely independent and creative spirit is set free and that she once again can be with her beloved Ed. Anne was my mentor and my friend. Though we came into each others lives late (Anne was 79 and I 36yrs old), she came in at just the right time. I met her through her painting classes and I loved her from that moment on and always will!! My thoughts are with your family at this time.

We are so sad to hear about Anne, but it gives us comfort to know that her battle is over. Ian & Maura you provided years of caregiving to Anne, which allowed her to remain in her cherished farmhouse longer than she could have without you.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Emerson family today and in the days of grieving ahead of you all.
Love to all,
John & Glenda
