Obituary of John George Hardy
JOHN GEORGE HARDY ~ May 14, 1948 – December 20, 2010 ~ With family surrounding him and in his wife’s arms George passed away. He lived life to the fullest with beer in hand and a smile on his face and always looked out for others. George began his life in England, and settled in Ontario 29 years ago. He touched many lives through his teaching at Durham College (for 25 years), and at the Port Perry Curling Club. He loved soccer, and enjoyed the outdoors. George Hardy of Port Perry, beloved husband of Gillian (nee Foster) for 30 years. Loved son of the late George and Lillian Hardy. Loving brother of Lillian (Brian Keenan), Brian Hardy (Lorraine) all in England, and Joan Todd of Whitby. Dear brother-in-law of Carole (Bob Beggs), and son-in-law of Peter Foster. Loved by his nephews Stephen Keenan (Lestryne), David Keenan (Alison) all in England, Peter Todd (Emma), and Michael Todd (Katie) both of Whitby, his nieces Lauren Hardy, Emily Hardy, Rebecca Beggs and Rachel Beggs all in England, his great nieces Sophie, Lucy, Beth, Leah, Imogen, Lilly and Ella. The family of George Hardy will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel" 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Wednesday, December 22nd from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate his happy life will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, December 23rd at 11 a.m. with Michelle Hoffman officiating.
