Although we were not close in recent years, I will always regard Jasen as a dear friend who will be greatly missed. Jasen had such a mischievous sense of humour that was truly infectious. Jasen didn’t do much by halves and dedicated himself fully to everything he did. I will always admire him for that. He was a good friend and I will always treasure my memories of him and our time together. The world is a little less bright without Jasen in it. My thoughts are with Jasen’s loved ones during this difficult time. My hope for you all is that you will find strength and peace together. All my love, Alana

Nima, I am so very sorry to hear about Jasen, actually I was devastated. My heart goes out to you and to Jakeb, and Olyvia “Abby, and Connor. Jasen was a great young man. He managed as best he could with what he was dealt, he was an awesome dad, he loved you and the kids more than anything. He had been so happy going on trips with the kids. I think sometimes his smile was painted on because that is always the way I saw him no matter what the situation I saw in him. He would help anyone without hesitation. I will truly miss him and I'm praying that any pain has gone from him being up in heaven with GOD. Jasen R.I.P. and meet up with mom and dad let them know like you they will never be forgotten and are missed terribly . Love you lots and lots Jasen!!!! Dice xoxo Nima I know you probably won't but if there is anything I can do for you I'm here. I am an excellent listener okay, any time of day or night. .

I have many fond memories of Jasen as we grew up on the same street and went to school together. I remember hanging out at Prince Albert Public School one weekend and we were on a tire swing together. We thought it would be funny if he kept spinning me to see if I’d get sick. He did… and I did. He was one of the funniest guys I knew. In high school geography class we often got into trouble because we were always talking and laughing. We shared many heart to heart conversations during those years and it was Jasen who reaffirmed for me that there were nice guys out there. He was one of them. My condolences to his loved ones. Rest in peace Jasen.

I met Jasen at McMaster University more than a decade ago, and I was immediately drawn to his wicked sense of humour and fun-loving ways. He could always be counted on to light up the room and make everyone around him feel at ease. It was a delightful surprise when I bumped into Jasen at my brother-in-law's birthday party eleven years later. Even after all that time, we picked up where we left off, and he was cracking jokes and teasing me like the old times. I was so sorry to hear of his passing - my thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I didn't know Jasen long, but you didn't have to with Jasen. When I began working in the ICU at Southlake, he was often in charge and went out of his way to make me feel welcome, get to know me, and reassure me. He added tremendous positive energy to the entire unit and was loved by us all. Our hearts go out to his family at this time of loss. We will always remember him!

While I didn't know Jasen very well, I used to be a neighbour of his and our boys played together a few times when they were younger. He was a friendly face I would see at the arena on a regular basis. I just feel so saddened by this huge loss to his children, his girlfriend, his family, and others who loved him. My deepest condolences to all of you xo

I remember so well spending time with Jasen, Melissa, Bev and John at their home as a boy. My father and John were great friends, and so Jasen and Melissa were playmates to me and my sister as children. He was a fun-loving and easy-going guy. I hope that his children are brought up to know what kind of a person he was and how he must have loved them. We are thinking of all of you - Jasen's children, Melissa and her family, and everyone else who loved Jasen. We are truly sorry for such a terrible loss. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

I am still in shock and total disbelief on hearing of such a tragic loss. Jasen, the class clown, the father who adored his kids, the kind, caring and compassionate, lovable guy that I've ever met. His sense of humor and love of hockey, the pride he had in his kids will be missed by all those who knew him. My heart goes out to his children and to his girlfriend Nima and the rest of his family. Life without him will never be the same but hold his memories close to your hearts and know he will be watching over you all. He will NEVER be forgotten, he will live on in his children's life adventures, in their joyful times and in their hearts. He will be in the rain that washes your tears away, he will be in the wind that blows your hair and he will be in the stars and the sky watching over you. RIP Jasen, thank you for the great memories and know that everyone that knew you will miss you more than you would ever imagine. Until we meet again.....
