Obituary of Joan Appleton
MARGARET JOAN APPLETON ~ Died peacefully, and with dignity, on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, at age 91. Joan (nee Rider) was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, on May 1, 1920. She is predeceased by her first husband Leland Calvin; by her second husband and love of her life, Eric Robert Appleton, and by her younger brothers, Dr. W.D. (Bill) Rider, and Dr. J.G. (Gordon) Rider. Cherished mother of Margaret and her husband Rick Williams. Loved grandmother of Kirsten and her husband Matt Goad, Andrew Williams and his wife Kelly, and great grandmother of Madeleine, Erika, Evan, and Calvin. Dear stepmother to Wendy Nisbet and her daughter Emma. Loving aunt to Susan, Alistair, Donald, Hamish, Sheila, and Peter. The family of Joan Appleton will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985 2171) on Saturday, April 14th from 10 to 11 a.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel at 11 a.m. with Reverend Don Willmer officiating.
