Obituary of Susan Lee Rohrer
Susan Lee Rohrer, 75, of View Lake, Ontario passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2024 after a long and valiant struggle with dementia. Susan was born to the late Henry Cantrell and Cora Lee Linton on October 26, 1949. She was married to her beloved husband, Kenneth Rohrer (2023), for 53 years. Susan is survived by her loving children Michelle and Jeffrey (Trung). Susan was a devoted mother to her children and she was Ken’s faithful companion in all of his endeavours in farming, land development and building her dream house on the lake. Ken’s retirement from General Motors in 2006 afforded them the time to explore their life-long passions. Susan loved sharing their prized possession, a 1971 Chevelle convertible, at local car shows. She enjoyed going to craft shows, shopping and going out for lunch with her dear sister Marlene Werry (2019). They shared many laughs together and were best friends. In the winter, Susan and Ken travelled to their home in Florida where she enjoyed line dancing, yoga, swimming, bike riding and the beautiful weather. We would like to thank the nurses and PSWs at Extendicare Kawartha Lakes for their outstanding care of our mom over the past two and a half years. Their attention to her in the final days was amazingly beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for better care. Also, we would like to share our appreciation of Bayshore Home Health PSWs Laura (2024) and Dorothea. Their care, compassion and friendship to our mother was life-changing for her. We can never thank them enough.
“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, As long as I’m living my Mommy you’ll be.”
Private arrangements have been entrusted to the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171). As per Susan’s wishes there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.waggfuneralhome.com.
