Just learning this sad news. I don’t believe any of Rose’s colleagues in Toronto knew of Rose’s passing.
She was a dear friend and I have very fond and funny memories of a trip I had with Rose to PEI, NS. and Nfld. the summer she retired. She was a great tour guide!
My dearest and heartfelt condolences to her family and Diane.

Rose loved life-- a good meal, a glass of wine, a hearty laugh, good company. She was a caring, loyal friend that brought good will wherever she went. I remember the two of us having dinner at Il Postino one Friday evening and the laughter and wine flowed. By the time Rose drove me home it was snowing heavily. Somehow, the curbs got in the way. I prayed to make it home alive; she laughed. She had a zest for living not often seen in others.

We met Rose through our family member Diane Goodman, who became friends with Rose at the start of their teaching careers. Despite living in different provinces for about 30 years, they maintained a 55-year friendship, which included taking wonderful trips to several countries. Speaking of travel, Diane's niece, Lori, took this photo at Peggy's Cove, NS in September 2018. It shows Rose with Diane and family members who were on vacation with Lori--such an enjoyable and memorable day.
Rose was kind, generous, loyal and determined. One of her friends told me that Rose once drove to her home at midnight to help her with a computer problem when she was trying to type an essay in the early days of home computers--that was the kind of person Rose was.
She loved to share her sense of humour and singing voice with everyone she met, and she never lost her positive outlook on life. Rose undoubtedly had a positive impact on countless students and will be missed by many friends and family members. We hope memories of her bring comfort and peace.
With our condolences,
The Zucchiatti Family

This picture shows my Aunt Rose with myself after a nice dinner at Historic Property's in Halifax, N.S. We were both being a bit silly...wine at dinner may have contributed. Love and miss you Aunt Rose, you will never be forgotten. XO Cathy Comeau

You’ve lived a wonderful, long life! A teacher in Ontario and then retiring in NS. So happy you were able to spend time with your family in NS and PEI in your later years and got to take many trips. You will be missed by your family and friends and especially your lifelong friend, Diane. May you Rest In Peace Rose Marie. Xoxo
