Charlie was a great source of wisdom when I was in university. He always treated me as a friend in spite of our age difference, and always ready with advice when asked. He was an excellent teacher with a ready smile. He was pretty unflappable given the crazy stuff we did around his house! He and Elma raised five great kids who I am sure miss him greatly.

Charlie Foster is one of the heroes in the ongoing legacy of Mimico Baptist Church. His parents and siblings were faithful servants of Christ both in the church and then from the church. An inspiration to many. Charlie was planning to be at the centennial celebrations of our church January 26th. He didn't make it but his son Rob came and well represented the family. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with you all as you mourn his loss but celebrate the gospel, our hope and his.
Rev. Jim Sanderson - pastor, Mimico Baptist Church.
I had the privilege and joy of knowing Charlie. Truly a man who lived his faith.

Dear Alma, Arthur, Don & Helen & Family,
Our deepest condolences to you and your family in the passing of your beloved and cherished husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Charlie left a rich spiritual legacy to everyone he met. He was an ambassador to the province of Quebec by stimulating evangelism and church planting throughout the province of Quebec. Charlie truly saw the harvest of souls ahead and sowed seeds for the gospel to be proclaimed. Charlie truly lived his life full of days. He lived his live devoted to God. What a joyous reunion he is having in heaven with his loved ones!
My mother Alice (Foster) Peckover lives in Thornloe. Today my mother turns 95. My mother said “Charlie was a special nephew because he was born on September 20, 1925,” and she was born on January 27, 1925. My mother has fond and precious memories of Charlie. My husband and I remember chatting with Charlie at family events. Charlie will be deeply missed.
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time.
Much Love,
Cousin Janet (Peckover) Wilson & Blair Wilson & Aunt Alice (Foster) Peckover

I remember the first time I met Charlie. We were recently engaged and Jean-Guy was so eager for me to meet his pastor, spiritual father and mentor. We went to the Centre where we found him vacuuming the dining room rug around Pierre in his Jolly Jumper. I thought, "Ah, this man is an example of a true servant of God." Jean-Guy had lost both parents at a young age and he told me he felt that the Lord gave him the Foster family to fill his loneliness.
Charlie married us the following June and Elma organised our reception at 1010 des Braves. They were both so gracious and always there to serve, encourage, counsel and console us throughout our ministry. I can imagine God meeting him with these words, "Welcome home my good and faithful servant." Thank you Charlie for all you did for us.
Our sincere condolences to the family at this time of loss. May God's presence bring peace, hope and consolation to your grieving hearts.

My dearest Elma and family,
It is with deepest sympathy that I say I am sorry for your loss of a sweet, kind, loving, devoted, loyal, passionate, well-learned husband, father and grandfather. I have loved Charlie since back in the days when he was my pastor in London. He had a great spiritual influence in my life and has helped shape who I am today.
You, Elma and Charlie were inseparable. You both helped me to be the best that I could be. To grow in my faith and live it out.
As the song goes...”When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be....” I can barely wait!!! Praise Jesus we have that assurance and that hope that we will all be reunited with our Lord and with our loved ones! Amen!!! With much love and affection, Sara Andre-Peacock

I met Charlie as a friend of a friend in last summer in Port Perry. He was kind enough to get up from his nap to drive into town and drive me 20 minutes to the nearest Go Bus stop when I'd come into town on the Civic Holiday and hadn't realized there were no more buses out of Port Perry in the afternoon...then wait for me until the bus came and I'd made it on safely. I know he will be greatly missed by my friend and, I'm sure, by many others.
Charlie gave an interview in Faith Today a few years ago about his work helping planting churches in Quebec: http://digital.faithtoday.ca/faithtoday/20160304?pg=34#pg34

My deepest sympathy to the family and all those who were touched by Charlie's life. We have lost a great man. I enjoyed my time with Charlie and Elma in Zaire in the 90s. One of my vivid memories was driving north from Goma with them in a sea of Rwandan refugees in 1994. Another was getting out of another jam in Zaire and once out of the plane the two hugging each other with such fierce love, like they were the only two people alive. They also spoke at our wedding and I was touched by all the thought that was put into that honest, loving speech (in both languages). Au revoir Charlie. It won't be long.

Charlie, was my first cousin. Charlie and I attended the same church for a few years, all the time, not knowing He was my cousin. I knew him as "Charlie". One day we chatted and learned our last names were the same. As we chatted more, we found our our relatives all lived in Northern Ontario. One thing led to another, and soon discovered My dad and His dad were brothers ! A wonderful surprise and we had many talks since that day, learning about each other. What a reunion it must be in Heaven with his Parents, grandparents and brothers and sisters ! He shall be missed

May the Father surround your family with strength, peace, love and comfort as you mourn, but knowing you "grieve not as those who have no hope". Such a blessed hope to know cousin Charlie has been received with Christ's words, " Well done, good and faithful servant." You can rejoice as you celebrate Charlie's life - this godly man who is receiving his reward for the good work done here on earth, touching so many lives with his wisdom, love and concern. Much love from Reg and Laura (Richards) Miller.

Charles was always so kind, caring and attentive. He always had time for me at church, leaning in to hear what I was saying and asking good questions about our family and my work, for example. He was a father-in-Christ, and even hearing about the way in which he died and embraced his saviour is a lesson and testament for me. Another example to follow. Thank you Charlie Foster.
