Obituary of Jim Grieve
We are heart broken and saddened to announce the sudden passing of Jim Grieve on Sunday, June 16, 2019, at his home in Caesarea, at age 79. Jim Grieve, dearly loved husband, soulmate, and best friend of Christine (nee Pantschuk). Loved father of Cindy and her husband Christopher Smith, Bob Grieve and Lana, Kevin Grieve and his wife Michelle, Teresa Grieve and Shane Lee, Ryan Grieve and Allison, Cory Grieve and Janine, and Lindsey and her husband Dan Morrison. Loving grampa of Morgan, Jessica, Katie, Max, Michael, Tristan, James, and Carson and great grampa of J.D, and Joseph. Dear brother of Grace Yvonne “Bonnie” Brittain and her husband the late Vern Wright and Rick Grieve and his wife Dianne. Brother-in-law of Larry Panchuck and his wife Deb, Peter Panchuk and his wife Joan, and Dan Pantschuk and Linda. He will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jim was a licensed mechanic by trade who loved to tinker on his antique and classic cars in his spare time. He was manager of Port Perry IGA then became owner for 32 years. He loved his community and proudly donated to it and actively took part in as many activities as time allowed. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, BIA, and was a Charter Member, Past President and Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club of Port Perry. Jim loved people and always enjoyed a good joke or two.
The Family of Jim Grieve will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985‑2171) on Friday, June 21st from 3 – 5 and 7 -9 p.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held in the Port Perry United Church on Saturday, June 22nd at 11 a.m. Private interment Nestleton United Church Cemetery.
