Obituary of Keith Hobbs

On Sunday May 5, 2019, surrounded by his children, Keith Hobbs passed away at age 85 after an extended illness at Port Perry Place. Keith was beloved husband of the late Sadie (nee Docherty), loved father of Kevin and his wife Monica, Andrea and her husband Rick, and Ian and his partner Sheryl, and dear brother of Janet and her husband Gordon. The family takes comfort knowing that Keith has been reunited with the love of his life, Sadie. Keith will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. An early adopter of computer technology in the workplace, Keith had a series of careers including consultant, accountant and pop bottler. By nature a man who loved to tease followed by a wink or a twinkle in the eye, Keith was guided by a desire to help others and to speak up when he sensed misdeeds.

The family of Keith will hold a visitation at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME in the “McDermott-Panabaker Chapel” 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Tuesday, May 14 from 1- 2 p.m. A service to celebrate his life will follow in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at St.Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Columbus. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to Parkinson Canada.
