Dear Joan and family: I was saddened to hear about Aunt Deedee passing on but glad that she did not suffer and went peacefully. It was wonderful for her to have you all there and her to be aware of that fact. I was so glad to spend time with her this past summer. She said then that she was ready to go, that she was tired. It seems like the end of an era doesn’t it, all the Dainty clan of that age gone. It only strengthens the realization that we as a family should strive to keep in touch. I know we are far apart but let’s all make an effort, even if it’s a short e-mail at times to find out what the rest of the family is doing. I would love to see any of the family who makes the “trek out here to the Land of the Big Sky. It truly is beautiful here when the sun shines brightly, even in the cold. Lots of love to all the family. Your cousin Helen. My family also sends their condolences.

Hello Joan, Linda, John, Ken & families: I was greatly saddened to hear of your Mom’s passing. What a great person she was. She will be remembered lovingly by me as a true sister and friend to our Mother and Father and a caring and thoughtful Aunt who always made time for us “cousins. I remember so many different occasions growing up where Aunt Dee Dee’s laughter and sense of fun lightened the load for many of us. How wonderful that you all got to have such a long time with her – imagine 92 years of age. I am truly sorry that I missed her 90th, and that so many years went by without staying in touch. I can’t help thinking that there will be a great celebration in heaven now that Mom, Dad, sisters, sister-in-laws, brothers, and brother-in-laws are together once again. What a reunion. May God be with you all and help you through this time of sorrow. Love (Cousin) Donna, Joe and family

You may not remember me, but I worked at Erin Mills Lodge. I started just a couple of months after your Mother and Father moved in and retired 5 yrs. ago. I have so many fond memories of Edith, her sense of humour, her dignity and have pictures I will always cherish. She spoke at my retirement party, which she really didn't want to do publicly, but I have the picture. Whenever I think of my time at Erin Mills, and the residents I knew over the years, Edith always comes to mind. We had lots of laughs together. She surely will be missed by the family, and oh so many friends, she was a wonderful person, and I know when you think of her in years to come, it will bring a smile to you for the fond memories and Love she gave. Sincerely, Betty

Edith touched many lives during her stay at Erin Mills Lodge - mine was one of them. She was kind to my children and always kind to me during her stay here at the Lodge. I lost my mother at a very young age and was always so envious of you who had Edith as your Mother - she was a loving, supportive person who loved to laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this very difficult time. She will continue to touch your lives as she watches over all of your from heaven. I will look back at my pictures of Edith with my boys with very fond memories. Know that she was indeed loved my many at Erin Mills Lodge.

Our deepest condolences to all of you from our hearts. We all will treasure the time and memories of Aunt "DeeDee" that we have had over the years. I will mostly remember all the "home perms" I received as a child in the kitchen in East York. And all the memories of Rice Lake and many laughs and tears. To the family - we will be unable to attend the service or visitation as we are away in Florida and a cruise but just know that you are all in our hearts and thoughts. God Bless to you all. Love Vickie, Dennis, Darren and Dianna.

Joan, John, Ken and Lynda and families. Ian has just told me of the passing of Aunt Edith. How wonderful that she lived to be 92 and have such an amazing group of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I have such fond memories of both Aunt Edith and Uncle Jack and the times the Dainty family spent together when we were much younger. Although this is a sad time for you and your families it is also a time of celebration of her long life. I shall always remember her thoughtfulness and love of life and family and of course her infectious laugh. May you all find peace in her memory. I am sorry I cannot be at the funeral but will have a special thought of Aunt Edith on Thursday. Thinking of you all from Los Angeles. David Dainty
