My condolences to the Harris family. I had the pleasure of working with Dan in Resolute Bay, Nunavut, and what an experience that was! Working with Dan there was never a dull moment, we always had something to rant about or laugh about. On 12 week rotations, we needed all the laughs, and good times to help keep us semi-sane. I too wish that Dan had written the book he talked about, he had such a way of sharing life's stories. I cherish these memories, as I send my thoughts to you at this sad time.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Dan's family and friends at this time. From our time together in Resolute I have so many wonderful memories of the happy visits to Narwhal where Dan was working. The chats over coffee, the great stories, his big smile, the great meals, his helpfulness. Thank you Dan and may you rest in the shelter of His loving arms.

I was sorry to hear of Dan's passing. I worked with Dan in Resolute and it was always great fun. He always had a story to tell and had an infectious laugh. He said he was going to write a book about Resolute. I wish he had the time as I know it would have been a great read. My thought are with you. Rhonda Peterson

I worked with Dan in Resolute Bay at the Narwhal Hotel from 1992 to 1994. Dan was interesting to work with and told great stories about parties and actions taken that "seemed like a good idea at the time". There was one about the cook who they barricaded in her room, it was something about what she cooked, maybe too much deep frying! He could laugh at himself and while he often was bushed at the end of his 12 week tour he was a good co-worker and I am very sad to hear of his death. Please accept my condolences, I will be thinking of Dan lots and wishing I could be there to make a toast to Dan with his friends and family. Pat Moore Yellowknife
