Officer Warner met with me when I was a child, around the age of 9. He was friends with my father. He was patient, and took time to explain to me what he did for our community and what it meant to be police. Rest in Peace, Tom. You had a strong impact on me as a young man.

I'm just finding out about the loss of Thom, my thoughts and prayers go out to his family, I was a friend of Thoms for many, many years when he first joined the police force, unfortunately we lost touch for a while and then I spoke with him again in 2007, I will remember his smiling face forever, he was a great person to me and it really shocked me to see his face and name here when I was looking up his name to say hello, I'm really saddened by his loss RIP my friend you are in a better place, I will remember you forever!!!!

Tom was my Big baby brother - a mischievous, fun, pork & beans loving kid. Generous to a fault - he loved to give presents and later in life became Santa for hundreds of needy kids in Toronto. He was a good cop - fair and open. I remember him recounting stories of dogs biting the ass out of his police pants, falling over the TTC styles at the Dundas station chasing a bandit and splitting the ass of his pants wide open. Always a man to laugh - especially at himself. We each joined the Police Service for several reasons but mainly for the love of helping others. Tom and I both have a warped sense of humour (we got it from dad). It has been over 5 years since he passed and I still have a gaping hole in my life. Lee and the children have moved on - Im happy. My son has continued to carry the torch and is now a police officer in Toronto. I miss Tom each and every day. I pray that he found peace from the agonies he suffered on Earth. I know in my heart he is with my Dad and they are happy.

Spend all your time waiting for that second chance For the break that will make it OK There´s always some reason to feel not good enough And it´s hard at the end of the day I need some distraction or a beautiful release Memories seep from my veins Let me be empty and weightless and maybe I´ll find some peace tonight In the arms of the Angel far away from here From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you feel You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie You´re in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here So tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn There´s vultures and thieves at your back The storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies That make up for all that you lack It don´t make no difference, escape one last time It´s easier to believe In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness That brings me to my knees In the arms of the Angel far away from here From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you feel You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie You´re in the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here In the arms of the Angel; may you find some comfort here One year filled with sadness.... Always, Jason & Mandie 5.31.10

Dear Lee and Zack, Our deepest sympathy for the loss of Thom. I can recall when Thom and I start coaching Hockey in PP. When goofing around on the ice I flipped a puck up and it accidentally hit Thom in the helmet. We often joked about this moment. Thom had a huge heart with his charity in the community and we will all miss his love of Hockey and good will. Thom is not in pain anymore and we will keep him in our prayers. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers and that we are here for you if you need anything at all or want a friend to play with. Ryan will miss the body-checks and the solid headlocks from Thom ... cherished memories that he will never forget; Thom made Jess laugh ... she will miss this the most .. but she is thankful to have her favourite hockey stick: it was specially autographed by Thom. We will all miss him ... his heart was bigger then the man and it was our priviledge to have known him .... Marg, Ken, Jessica, Ryan Perhaps they are not stars, but openings in the heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines upon us to let us know they are happy

To the Warner Family, I remember Thom with a round eager cherub face, rosy cheeks, blond hair and mischievous blue eyes. I remember taking him downtown by himself (without either sister) to just browse and touch Timothy Eaton's big toe. Unfortunately, I got off the street car too soon and had to lug a sleeping 60 lb little boy up Kingston road! I remember the "vet" and the spirit of Thom, always sharing his joy with others. I loved him dearly and always will, his cousin Susan

I would like to share my favourite story of Thom. Robert & Drew's 1st year of hockey (2001, 5 years old), Thom & I were their coaches. As many of you may remember, we had Friday night practices in Blackstock, and it was a Friday I couldn't make it home in time to attend. Drew's mom (Paula, who had a limited hockey background) took him to the arena, and helped Drew get ready for their ice time. Thom assisted by tying Drew's skates for him, as he was finishing, Paula reminded Drew to put his "MITTS" on, (as Drew tells the story) Thom slowly turned to look at Paula, and in his "Thom" way stated...They aren't "MITTS", they're "GLOVES"! When I think of this story, it has always put a smile on my face, hopefully it did for you too. With Love, From Scott, Paula, Drew & Tessa!

And in my hour of darkness She is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. Let it be, let it be. Whisper words of wisdom, let it be. And when the broken hearted people Living in the world agree, There will be an answer, let it be. For though they may be parted there is Still a chance that they will see There will be an answer, let it be. Let it be, let it be. Yeah There will be an answer, let it be. And when the night is cloudy, There is still a light that shines on me, Shine on until tomorrow, let it be. I wake up to the sound of music Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. Let it be, let it be. There will be an answer, let it be. Let it be, let it be, Whisper words of wisdom, let it be. Thom...missing you... 7.31.09

Oh holy night The stars are brightly shining It is the night of the dear Savior's birth Long lay the world in sin and error pining Till he appear'd and the soul felt its worth A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn Fall on your knees Oh hear the angel voices Oh night divine Oh night when Christ was born Oh night divine Oh night divine Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming Here come the wise men from Orient land The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger In all our trials born to be our friend Truly He taught us to love one another His law is love and His gospel is peace Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother And in His name all oppression shall cease Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, Let all within us praise His holy name missing you...forever and always 12.25.09
