I truly regret not being able to attend Aunt Ruby's funeral on December 13th. Ruby was the last surviving sister to Muriel, Winnie and Bill Dunford. Travelling from Winnipeg to the East coast for Reserve Navy Training exercises, for many years, it enabled me to stop over and visit Ruby and Fred on their dairy farm in Manchester. Ruby often recounted this story: "While working in Toronto at Parmount Studios, when Ruby told her co-workers of her pending marriage to Fred there was great speculation as to how long, a person living all her life in the city, would last on a dairy farm. They came to the conclusion that she would do well to last 5 years". Well Aunt Ruby proved them all wrong and then some. Ruby and Fred shared over 40 years of marriage along with adopting Paul at 4 years and Susan at 18 months. These, now, adult children have become successful in their careers and married life which proves a loving family is so important. My Aunt was very involved in the activities of the womens' groups in her church over the years as well as supporting Fred in assisting with his organizing and participation in the Port Perry Agricultural Fairs (with Paul carrying on this commitment. God Bless Ruby who is now sharing again with Fred.

We are sorry that we didn't learn of Ruby's death until too late to attend the funeral, but we cannot let the occasion pass without sending our condolences to all the family from our family. In her long life, she brought a lot of happiness to a lot of people, and that's what we will remember. From cousins-in-law Barb and Stan Farrow and their family
