Allison, Zach and Vanessa. I truly hope this message reaches all three of you, albeit a little late. Bruce and I went back to CIBC days in the early 80's when Bruce was the AM of Human Resources in Alberta. Even in those days he was a soft spoken but very thoughtful person who cared deeply about others. I greatly appreciated his input on a wide range of issues and his steady hand on the helm when I was out of the office. We reconnected in Toronto for a short time but unfortunately lost touch. As a testament to the old banking network it was one of our fellow associates who was kind enough to inform me about Bruce's death. Please accept our condolences. Reg & Audrey Pirie

We were sorry to hear of Bruce's passing and our condolences are with the family. We have many fond memories of working with Bruce at CIBC in Calgary. The best memory was being part of the Four Tops and the Temptations where Bruce led the way to the successful show it was. It was so much fun and a time that will never be forgotten. Please know our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Donna & Dale Caudron, Austin, Texas/Calgary, Alberta

We were so sad to hear the news of Bruce's passing. Thinking back to days at CIBC in Calgary so many years ago there are many fond memories. The one that makes us smile most is to remember when the group from the WRSC performed at the annual CIBC party as "The Temptations and The Four Tops". Bruce was the first to walk out on the stage. The entire room was screaming and cheering. Bruce was a great sport and it was an incredibly fun night that we will never forget. Please know that we are thinking of you Rod and Val Fossen Port Moody BC

I worked with Bruce at Intria-HP and was always impressed with his ability to drive relationships and how he managed his team. He was a great impression to us all. My only regret was having the time to play golf with Bruce. He will be missed and always remembered.

Dear Allison, My deepest condolences to you with the recent passing of Bruce. The last time I saw him, he was hustling around Golf Town selling Clubs like there was no tomorrow. Bruce will live forever in the wonderful memories you have of your life with him. Find peace knowing that he loved you deeply.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Bruce’s passing and wish you comfort in your memories. Bruce hired me and was my first direct report at CIBC, as I found out later there was no other like him. He made me feel welcome and spent time with me to walk me through the maze of paper work. Bruce was larger than life, personable, walked the walk and talked the talk. Bruce always had time for his team, joined us for lunch every time he could. Had a wonderful sense of humor, loved listening to his stories. He will be missed. My sincerest condolences, Sharon

My memories of Bruce consist primarily of two things, wry humour and sage advice. I met Bruce after he started dating Allison and he became part of the equestrian world. Â Anyone who has spent time in the horse world can tell you that it is filled with characters. Bruce's strong observational skills allowed him to sort out the "wheat from the chaff" in this environment pretty quickly. Â He and I spent many hours debating the fine points of riding, horse showing, the nature of humanity and the best blend of tea. Â He was equally erudite on each subject. Â I will always remember our conversations and hope I can continue to apply his best piece of advice; listen to yourself, you know the answer.

I am truly saddened to learn of Bruce's passing. I met Bruce in 1988 at CIBC in Calgary where we worked together for 5 years. Bruce was always a highly supportive friend and I was able to continue my friendship with him when I was also transferred to Toronto with CIBC. I had the pleasure of meeting Allison when she and Bruce stayed with us in Calgary a few years ago. I always enjoyed and appreciated Bruce's perspective on life, his passion for golf and his ability to challenge others in discussions. I along, with many others, appreciated his friendship and will miss him.

Vanessa & Zach, I was so saddened to hear of your father's passing. I remember the two of you when you were young in Calgary. Alison, I know we only met once, but I was so happy he had found you. I had the pleasure of working with Bruce in his early years at CIBC (1977 and on) and our paths separated for a while, but I ended up working with him again shortly thereafter until I left CIBC in 2003. When I think of Bruce the first image that comes to mind are all the baseball games we played together at CIBC in Calgary. So many stories and so many ways he touched my life and I will be ever greatful that I shared so many times with him in work and play. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I will be there in spirit on Tuesday when you celebrate his life.

I stabled with Bruce & Allison at Revelry Farms. What a great team they were together. Bruce was always cheerful and learned to ride like a little kid with a fantastic new toy. He was overjoyed with the thrill of this adventure and lived it to the fullest with Allison's help. He was always encouraging of others and freely offered his help and advice. My condolences to Allison and his family. Heaven is richer and we are left with our fond memories. We are all better for having known him.

I am at a loss for words and am deaply saddened to hear the news of Bruce’s passing. I have only known Bruce a short amount of time, but am surely glad I had the privilege of knowing him. He definitely had a passion for life and it showed with everyone he dealt with, a true gentleman and a class act. Bruce, you will be greatly missed.
