Gord & Christopher, our hearts go out to you both at this time. It has been heartbreaking to see Carolyn go through this but know that she is no longer suffering and is at peace. We have so many wonderful memories of Carolyn. She always had a way about her and did everything with her own unique flair - from her latest hair style with her bright red, orange, yellow and I think even a little purple - Brian had told her she looked like a rooster. Only Carolyn would know this was meant as a compliment and it was taken as one by her. Although our friendship began with our kids growing up together - it flourished into much more. I could always count on Carolyn for a good chat - whether it be to just catch up on events in our lives, someone to bounce ideas off of, advice, a good debate or to share a laugh. There are so many good times to think back on - her Nintendo skills (to the point the kids didn't get to play as she was hogging the game and she had to sport bandages on her thumbs from her Nintendo blisters), our shared love of reading, All My Children (she would be so thrilled to know Angie & Jessie are back on the show), our trip from hell when we borrowed Gord's friend's motorhome that started breaking down an hour into the trip to Maine - the foldout bed collapsing under Carolyn and our concern taking second place to us all ending up in peels of laughter, her craft skills, year round Christmas tree with the sunflower decorations, teddy bear collection (including her tatoo to prove she was NOT getting old), day trips with the kids to Ontario Place, local fairs (sneaking me in as one of the 'kids'), fireworks in town and our joy at taking them to their very first concert. Our adult outings to Momma Mai, the Niagara wineries and our glamour shots (only Carolyn could talk me into that one). I could go on and write a book I'm sure and I will put all my fondest memories together for you both as there is not enough room to do so on this site. I remember speaking with Carolyn many times when she first became ill and her main concern was not for herself but for Gord. She told me over and over how bad she felt for HIM. This spoke volumes of how grateful she was to have Gord in her life and her love for him, as she did not want to be any trouble. Gord you were an amazing support for Carolyn and she could not have asked for a better person to support her through this. I also believe that someone was watching out for you both when they sent Helen your way. She was a god send to you both and it takes a very special person to do the type of work she does. She was your's and Carolyn's angel at your time of need. Christopher, I know your mom was and will always be so proud of you. We will hold all our memories close and please know that she will be greatly missed. She was one of a kind. Love Lori, Brian and Matt Clayton
