For many years now I have known Joy professionally and have carried with me a card intended to be given to Joy in case of my death. It says quite simply, "Once, you touched me and hope was born anew." Deeply saddened by her passing, I carry also the gift she has been, and continues to be, for so many of us. My condolences to you her family, friends and all whose lives have been touched by this truly great and beautiful woman.

To my family, Joy, Sal, Angela, Mary, Pat, Mom and all of the Murphys/Arrigos who touched my life for the very long time that Pat and I were together, I have only wonderful memories of all of the family get togethers, celebrations, Sunday dinners while holding hands and sharing what we were thankful for. I am truly thankful for all of you and what you have meant to me in my life. Sean and Colin are so blessed to have been born into such an amazing family. I will miss Joy very much and will continue to welcome summer each year with a gin and tonic and a toast to the friendship and sisterhood that Joy and I shared.

For a woman that embraced life and to now see the life gone out of her is a concept that I am having a hard time embracing. I know that the last few years had been particular challenging but the shock on hearing that she had died, is an even bigger challenge to handle. To her mom, Bea, her sons Bob and Pat, her daughters Marlene and Mary, her husband Sal and her beloved daughter Angela, I cannot imagine the grief that you are experiencing at this moment. I can only hope that you will all get through this terrible time and that you will go on with your life. I know that it is what she would have wanted of you all. There will be some tough times ahead but you can always look back on the great memories that you experienced while she was with you and hope that those memories will get you through. My thoughts are with you, as you know.
