To The McLean Family, Please accept my deepest sympathy. I knew Ken for a number of years through business. He was an extremely intelligent, loyal, patient man with a great sense of humour, a twinkle in his eye and a great smile. I will always remember him fondly. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm sorry that I was unable to visit with you this week. I only heard the news about Ken yesterday. - Dan Duffy

Dear Family McLean, My thoughts are with you during this time of unimaginable loss. Ken was a special man, who I knew during my days at First Marathon. Many a time we took the late GO train together. He often spoke of his family as he was so very proud of his boys and so appreciative of your support Michelle, as a partner, a mother a wife. He loved you all so much. We will miss him. Our world has lost an unique spirit with his passing. Ann

Please accept my heartfelt condolences! Je suis vraiment navrée. I know what it's like to lose a father at a young age. If I had known earlier I would have come to the funeral home to give you a hug. I wish you and the entire family peace and light. May Mr. McLean rest in peace, free from pain and disease.

One of many fond memories I shared with Michelle today following the funeral service was the morning I found Ken almost in tears. First Marathon Securities rented an AS/400 at IBM to test our nightly batch cycle for Y2K compliance. Ken and I took shifts to run the scripted batches with adjusted dates to simulate the roll over to the year 2000. IBM provides a computer room and a small office with TV, DVD player, fridge, microwave… you get the picture. One morning I arrived to find Ken sitting on the sofa almost in tears, he was very distraught. I asked him if the Y2K testing failed. He shook his head no. I asked him if the AS/400 was down. Again he shook his head no. He walked over the set of DVD’s and showed me a copy of the movie Madame Butterfly and said in a very tearful sob that “She dies!!! I looked at him and gave him one of those “suck it up big guy looks and he proceed to tell me the story and when I told him I was going to tell the guys in the office Ken waved his huge oven mitt size fist at me. We stared at each other and laugh so hard we started to cry. I took him to Golden Griddle and we had breakfast and laughed some more! I’m really going to miss Ken and his smile and laugh!

My deepest sympathies over the loss of Ken. Ken will be deeply missed. His smile would make the day brighter. His care and consideration of others made him a pleasure to be around. Ken would never forget to ask you how your family was doing, and he would always remember what was said and follow up with you later. He always had an ear to listen when needed, and was a very caring person. A pleasure to work with. We had a few laughs together discussing the antics of my young sons, and in honour of his caring spirit, I will make a donation to Sick Kids. Regards, Kathryn

Deepest Regrets Ken and I worked together for a short time but in that small window he helped significantly and brought a warm and caring personality to and with everyone he worked with. He will be greatly missed by all of his many friends here.

It is of great sorrow to learn of Ken's recent passing. My sincere condolences are with family at this time. I new Ken during my employment with First Marathon. He was a kind spirited man with a work ethic of dedication and commitment that is of honourable mention. His passing at what i consider a youthful age is tragic. I share the grief of this loss as do many others.

Ken will be missed by many. He had a special family at First Marathon Securities...years ago. When we think of Ken it is of his smile and happy nature. Thanks for introducing me to red wine - Wolf Blass. When I think of Ken now I know he will be looking down at us with Leigh by his side...two amazing men whose lives were ended much too soon. To Ken's family I send my condolences for your loss and my thoughts and love at this time of sadness.
