Hi Mom
I can't believe that it has been a year since you left us. Time goes so fast, but the pain never goes away. The past week there have been many tears shed over the loss and the emptiness that now lives in our hearts. We are all struggling and I pray that we can continue to move forward as it seems that none of us have been able to move anywhere at all. I still hear your voice. It seems that I love and miss you more with each passing day. You are so loved by so many.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace Mom.

Dear Carl, Brian, Candy and Michelle! I am so very sorry to hear about Susan's passing. Words alone, I know can provide little comfort right now, but I want you to know that your friends share your deep sorrow and you have my heart felt sympathy. I have such wonderful memories of Susan, particularly life on Carnegie St.and our fun filled visits to B&L Donut shop for coffee and conversation. Your mom had a wonderful sense of humour and oh.... how she loved to laugh. I will never forget her!! Love, Valerie

To my dear Mother now resting in Heaven. We needed you but I guess God and Gran needed you more. I don't know how we will go on without you, but somehow we will. You said that Gran needed you and that she was on the side of your hand, and now I am sure that you are with her resting safely in her arms. Gone to soon. I wasn't ready to say good-bye...but would I ever? I can no longer see you but I know that you are watching over all of us, just like you did when you were here on earth. I promise to keep giving and continue to follow your gift of giving, not only at Christmas but through out the year. You have given me that gift. Your memory and your spirit, will live on forever through the eyes and the hearts of your children. I love you mom. Dance with the angels until I see you again. Forever in my heart, Your Daughter

Today I light a candle in memory of our friend Susan. I never knew anyone else that shared as much joy & excitement at Christmas time as I do until I met Susan. Seeing her house all done up at Christmas was beautiful. We talked about all the decorations we had and the many bins it took to store them all. Every year we'd ask what new treasures we'd found to add to our collection. Hands down, I couldn't keep up to Susan:) She always said that's the real reason she worked, so she could give at Christmas. She was always giving no matter what time of the year it was. A truly special person that always put others first. Every year as we're lighting our Christmas candles, we will light them in memory of you. We will miss you dearly! Love forever, the Cochrane Family

We did not see each other often over the past few years but when we did meet we always had a great visit. I sympathize and empathize (having recently lost my oldest son). Dearest Susan: I think you must have invented Christmas. No one I know has ever embodied the joy of Christmas the way you did. Your generosity of time and spirit was an inspiration to everyone who knew you. How many memories we shared at the Santa Claus Parade - often watching from your "Uncle's" porch! You never took no for an answer when it came to going to the parade. You taught me so much about giving and of course about wrapping gifts to perfection! I have so many fond memories of our times together - often over fish and chips and always with a great story to tell. Bon voyage dear friend - wherever you are they are lucky to have you and wait until they see Christmas! I will miss you ~ Love, Heather

Today, i am sad... My heart goes out to Susan's family and friends. Thinking back on memories, I used to get so excited when Susan would make shake n' bake drummettes for dinner when i was being looked after. To this day, i still think of her every time i make this in my home. I still have and love my first cabbage patch kid, and i thank you for all the lovely gifts over the years. I kept the beautiful "winter scene" clock out all year, this year... (usually i only bring it out at Christmas, but for some reason i kept it out...) It is my favourite...i can hear it gently ticking away in the background, i find it soothing. Thank you for taking the time to care over the years. You will be dearly missed. I wish i could be there in person, but i will be in spirit. I would like for you all to know that when i heard the time of Susan's passing, there were 3 rainbows overhead in my area... No more pain, only peace... May we all feel this. Much love,

Gramma Susan. You always put everyone else first. You were stubborn as a mule and always stuck to what you thought was right. I'll always remember you when I eat my sugary cereal that I can only get in the States - even if I will have it much less frequently without you thoughtfully lugging it home for me. I'm pretty confidant I won't have wrapped up Trix under the Christmas tree ever again. :) I miss our break times together with you, me, and twinkletoes where you would dole out helpful advice, always make sure we were taken care of, and remind us to work hard for ourselves first and everyone else second. Heaven will be a lot more colourful this Christmas.

Carl, Brian, Candace, Michelle and Bradley and to all of Susan's extended family we offer our deepest sympathies for your loss. I've known Gramma Susan for over 13 years and Dean has known her since childhood. We were truly saddened yesterday to learn of her passing. Gramma Susan was unique. Her endless compassion mixed with an unapologetic devotion to the people and things she loved made her everyone's friend and as her friend you felt as treasured and loved as a child. She will be very much missed. It brings a smile to my face and a warmth to my heart imagining Susan already decorating Heaven in glorious Christmas decor!!

I am very sad to hear the world lost a very kind, very special person. To know Susan was to love Susan ... She always thought of others, the students at shoppers looked to her for advice. I will always remember the dinners we shared at shoppers when my husband Gord sent me with double the food I could eat ... And would say to me ... Share it with Susan. She loved his spagetti . I sure will miss you my friend ... See you on the other side .. My condolences to her family .... You lost a special lady! Sending hugs to you all.
