Dear Andy, So good to hear your voice today despite the sad news of Carol's passing. She was a beautiful and elegant lady who lived her life with zest. Her strong creative sensitivity was apparent not just in her paintings but also in her home and gardens. Always open to new learning and self growth, she lived her life with integrity. I am very thankful for having been able to spend some good times with both of you in Port Hope and Toronto. I most appreciated Carol's generous hospitality, kind heart and obvious love for you Andy and her family. My thoughts and prayers will be with you tomorrow and in the coming days. Much love and peace to all of you.

Dear Andy, John and I will be thinking of you on Monday, and wishing we could be there to support you. Carol was wonderful, talented and beautiful lady. She will be greatly missed. It is hard to imagine the family without her. We were grateful that she was happy to visit us so regularly, and made us so welcome when we visited you. She seemed to enjoy England, and contributed greastly to family gatherings and special outings. She certainly added a touch of class! We were especially delighted that she came to us for your wedding blessing. What a great day that was, and how lovely she looked. She wanted lots of photos, and they really turned out well. It is nice to know that even recently she was able to enjoy looking at them. Mother felt very close to her, and was delighted that, like her, she was such a practical person, and willing to have a go at anything, from creating a high fashion dress to resurfacing your drive. Your house has always been a "show home", and you can be proud of it every time you look around. We think of her and mother together now, and we are certain that they are still trying to keep up their own high standards. Carol was a great companion to you, and there wil be many happy memories to comfort you as time goes by. It was a cruel twist of fate that you had so little time to enjoy your retirement together. Take comfort from knowing that you were able to look after her to the end, and be grateful for her amazing courage throughout her afflictions.

Andy, Tanya, Shawn, Troy, and families...I am so very sorry and shocked to hear of Carol's passing. I can't find the right words to quite express how sad I feel for you all and everyone who had the privilege to know her. An incredible woman, she inspired you to stand taller, expect more of yourself and to live all the delights life had to offer. She was a powerhouse of talent and fearless in the face of challenge. I will never forget the night Andy and Carol had a date night...she 'whipped up' a stunning backless black gown with a spider web design that held it together in the back...she had just seen it on Dallas...I couldn't believe it...Linda Evans couldn't hold a candle to Carol in that dress. Or the faux fur cape she made herself to keep her cozy on her busride to work in downtown Ottawa. Whenever Carol walked into the room, people stared...she was beautiful and oozed class.I will forever regret losing touch, losing my chance to tell her what she did for, and meant to me. You are all in my thoughts and prayers...my deepest deepest condolences.
