It has been a pleasure to have known such a wonderful man, his smile always gave me a lift and his apple pies where amazing. He will be sadly missed I still think of him often. Gone but never forgotten, one more star in the sky.

Dear Victoria and family, Our condolences to you and your family. We wanted to let you know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. Your dad was a wonderful baker and as soon as I mentioned your name to Laney she said " the pie man". Your dad made many pies for Coronation P.S. and they were wonderful. I'm sure he will be missed. Take care.

Many wonderful memories of this big hearted Dutchman. He first came into my life when he did some construction jobs for my father. They became good friends and I watch from the sidelines. When my father, Per Hvidsten, retired Nick and his crew took on many renovations of the old Port Perry Star building for me. I remember him fondly. This giant of a man, with a booming voice and a hearty laugh was really just a gentle giant. I loved him then, as I do now, and was so happy I got to visit with him again a few weeks ago. I'll miss you Nick, as will all who knew you. God bless.

We are very sorry to hear of Nick's passing. He was a man to whom we entrusted the building of our auction barn in Pickering which he did very well & we appreciated it with much thanks.

Nick was a giant of a man---physically and spiritually. I remember him with great affection. We will miss him around Port Perry, but I look forward to seeing him again roaming the streets of the New Jerusalem. Loved his apple pies too!
