Dear Kent,
So sad to hear Doug is gone. My memories of Doug will always be his constant support on the executive committee of the Ontario Crafts Council the year I was president and we were dealing with the fall out of big dreams and Chalmers Building. He was that solid banking executive who would look the head of the arts branch square in the eye and say" you must be mistaken, that is not at all what you said to us last meeting" He was a straight-up brave guy in the face of shenanigans...
All my warmest greetings to you, you and Doug have always been a great support to the crafts, and to me personally through a difficult time with the council.
Sincerely, Scott

Dear Kent,
My sincere condolences and sympathy on the loss of your dear life’s companion, Doug. Such a lovely man that I came to know through the SCA. He had a kind, quiet, intelligent, respectful manner and a lovely twinkle in his eye! We will all miss him. I regret that I am not able to come to the Service today in person. As you might remember, my husband Chuck and I now spend a good portion of the winter at our home in Costa Rica. However my thoughts are with you and your extended family.
With caring thoughts and condolences,
Hugs,
Jane Rowe

Dear Kent,
I was very sorry to read in the paper of the death of your husband. Although I only met him once , at that supper in Utica as far as I recall, I could tell he was very important to you and obviously he has had a successful life. Every time I go to the Library I check on the gallery and of course, think of you. My deepest sympathies to you and the other members of his family.PQbD a

Dear Kent, I was very sorry to hear of the passing of our good friend Doug. We travelled many years by train to Toronto during our banking careers. We formed a great friendship during this time and in the Port Perry Community. I had not seen you in years as I moved to the Ottawa Valley area, but Frank always kept me up to date with the news from Port Perry. Fond memories of you and Doug. Sincerely, Joseph T Baxter

Be well. I hope the memories of love and laughter will sustain you during this time.

Dear Kent
I’m sending this message from Vancouver as I am spending time with my Mom, who is in hospital recovering from pneumonia. John let me know of Doug’s passing and I wanted to let you know how sad Mom and I are to hear he is gone. I doubt I will be back home in time to give you my condolences in person next weekend, unfortunately. Mom is doing much better but is shaky on her feet and still needs the oxygen tube under her nose. Hopefully my presence here will mean she can get back home sooner. She is pretty amazing, considering she will turn 98 in the spring.
Many of my memories of Doug are associated with social occasions involving good food. Gourmet dinners at Conrad’s restaurants and other fine places. Mincemeat tarts at Christmastime. I hope he was able to enjoy his food as long as possible.
Take care of yourself, my dear.
Love,
Karen
