(39 year employee of General Motors, Veteran WW II Royal Canadian Navy, Past President Oshawa Ski Club, Former Port Perry Curling Club Director, Former Oshawa Barber Shop Quartet Member, Member Port Perry United Church Choir, and Member of Touch of Class singing group.)
After years spent boating, skiing, curling and singing Bill Corbett passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at his home in Port Perry, at age 83. He leaves behind to mourn him his dearly loved wife and partner of 24 years Jane (nee Sharpe), his sons Bill Corbett (Susan) of New York, and Bob Corbett (Kris) of Port Perry, his stepson Kevin Jones (Alissa) of Whitby, his grandchildren Bill, Angela, Bradley, Jeff, Jenny, and Anna, his great grandchildren Stephanie and Jordan and Betty Corbett mother of his sons. Dear brother of Alan Corbett of Whitby, Bud Corbett (Ann) of Lindsay and the late Margaret Stephenson. The family of Bill Corbett will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel" 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Friday, December 28th from 2 – 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held in the Port Perry United Church on Saturday, December 29th at 11 a.m. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert.
