Obituary of Joanna Jones

Peacefully, on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Port Perry Place, at age 82. Joanna Jones of Port Perry, loving sister of Jane and her husband Trevor Jones, Jack Jones and his wife Gwensair, Gwynfor Jones and his wife Heulwn (deceased), and Beryl and her husband Arfon Griffith, all of North Wales. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, and especially missed by her close friends Marjorie Jackson of Port Perry and Marlinne Doupe of Prince Albert. Joanna worked as a Public Health Nurse when she first came to Port Perry from Beaverton. After several years she moved to Cambridge Bay, on Victoria Island and worked in the Nursing Station there for five years. She moved back to Port Perry and finished her career at the Community Memorial Hospital in Port Perry, where she retired. The family of Joanna Jones will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel" 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905- 985-2171) on Saturday, January 28th from 10 – 11 a.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel at 11 a.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation.
