Will always remember her smile and laugh, a great friend to all she met.
From the time they met and spent together at the Nursery School, Chris and Vic became great friends of my parents Ev and Jack. After the losses of their husbands, these friends were there for each other in many different ways.
Our thoughts are with the family and as we fondly remember Chris, I know they are all together now.

So many wonderful tributes here to a lovely lady. Yes, she will always be a legend in Bowmanville. Both our
sons attended Bowmanville Nursery School in the 90's. I have never forgotten her "indoor voice please" and
use that phrase often. I am so proud to say she was a big part of son's lives. Many happy memories spent with her. It was adorable to hear my 3 year year old pronounce some words with an English accent after a day at
school. I've run into her a few times since then and we would catch up on some of the families. God Bless and
rest Mrs. Goad.

Dear family,
You were blessed to have such a wonderful mother in your lives. I was lucky to have wonderful times with your mom at the Bowmanville Nursery School. She was a kind and caring person who helped me be a better mother to my own children. I have posted two photos of Chris at the Nursery School so everyone can remember what remarkable teacher she was to many children.
I will miss her very much. She was a good friend to me for many years.Take comfort that she is a living legend in Bowmanville.

To paraphrase Robert Fulgham - All I really need to know I learned in Nursery School - and Ms. Goad taught it. My three children attended nursery school at the Beech Centre in Bowmanville during the 1990s, and had the great good fortune to be taught by Ms. Goad. There they learned all the most important things in life, like how to share, be kind to others, teamwork, creativity, individuality and how to sing and dance and have fun. Years later, when one of my kids was asked, "Who has been the most important person in your life?", the answer was Ms. Goad, and it was true. And she was a role model for me as well. Being a young mother, who had lost my own mom too soon, I took inspiration from Chris Goad as I watched her interact with all the children at nursery school over the years, engaging and encouraging them all to be the best they could be. Ms. Goad touched my family in very important and far reaching ways, I feel blessed to have known her and I will miss her.

My son attended Bowmanville Nursery School many years ago. Whenever I bumped into Chris she would ask after him. Unfortunately the second to last time that I saw Chris, I had to tell her that our son had died tragically in an accident 2 years previously, at the age of 25. Chris broke down in tears, showing such compassion and feeling after such a long time. She hadn't seen Chris, our son, since he was a little boy, but that was in essence totally the way Chris Goad was, genuinely loving and caring. Sincere condolences to all of her family and friends on their loss. The world will be less bright without her, and her smile, in it, but what a wonderful legacy she leaves behind.Heaven has one more angel in its midst.

Dear Matthew, Andrew and Jonathan
This is truly sad news. Not only did your mother make an impact on the lives of hundreds of children, including my own, she shaped our expectations of what education should be throughout the primary years. She was authentic and caring and I am grateful for having met her. She carried love and joy in her heart everywhere she went and it shone on her beautiful face. She will be missed by many and my heart goes out to you and your families during this difficult time. Tracy

Gone but not forgotten
Chris, we are filled with such mixed emotions. We are saddened with the loss of such a wonderful, precious person and for the heartbreak that your boys and families are feeling at this time. We also feel joy that you are now with Vic. We often chatted with you of your feelings that Vic was still with you and was waiting for you.
So many wonderful memories we will always carry with us, of not only you, but with Vic and all the family. We will treasure these times forever.
Remember, the life values you and Vic lived by, now live on through the boys and their families.
Both of you were taken far too early.
Rest in peace with your beloved Vic
Love
Alan and Sue

When such a dear friend and loving person as Chris is no longer with us, the void is so vast. She deserved many more years with us and a more graceful exit. Yet we try to fill the emptiness with beautiful memories. Chris's smile lit up the room, her heart went out to all, her poise and elegance outshone the sun. I know that she nurtured and taught so many in her polite yet strong manner. I will cherish our many meals, shows, quiet talks and adventures together with her three sons as we both watched them grow into the fine men they now are. My last happy memory will be playing tennis on grass with Chris last summer. Goodbye, true friend. Family and friends, my thoughts and heart go out to you.

Dear Granny, thank you for showing me what a strong women looks like and never letting cancer define you. Thank you for all of the laughs and memories over the years as well. One of my favourite memories was from when I was 6 or 7 years old and my dad and I went to go pick you up from the airport after one of your trips to England I asked you to sing me all the songs that you knew because I was always fascinated by all the types of songs you would sing and even though I bet you were very tired you still sang me "all the songs you knew" until I fell asleep on your shoulder. You have taught me so many things throughout our time together that I will take with me throughout life. I want to also thank you for supporting me through my academics and music. I'm very sad that you are gone but I know that you are in a better place with no pain dancing with Gramps and Mojo. Lastly I want to thank you for always bringing your own sunshine wherever you went. Love and Hugs, Madeleine

Dear Matthew, Andrew and Jonathan,
I was sad to hear about your mum's death. I have fond memories of my time in her Nursery School class at the old Lions' Centre in Bowmanville. I remember her having a laugh when I brought a tin of juice to her retirement party. I enjoyed her company when we all competed in judo tournaments during our youth. My thoughts are with you.
Sincerely,
Karl Wunderlich

Auntie Chris was such a very special person, so full of love, understanding and kindness.
Even though we lived so far apart, I have so many happy memories of spending time together
on my trips to Ontario and of our long chats on my commute to work. She was a rock during
the tough times, she was strong, caring, positive, courageous and truly inspiring. She fought
her battle with grace and dignity, living each and every day like it was a gift. Thank you
Auntie Chris for the lessons you taught me, you were truly a blessing in my life and I will
miss you so very much. Our deepest sympathies to you all, Lara and Ed.
