Love to PatrickElaineBobMaryBryan and all other Murphys far and wide,
Your Mother, Patrick, was a most amazing woman and it has taken me many years to realize just how amazing she really was! "I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life." ... Abraham Lincoln said these words, but I think they apply equally well to the Irish-named Bridget. As a young boy of fifteen, I prayed the rosary at the Murphy home. The memory has never left me and it was all because of Mrs. Murphy in her simple devotion and love of life. Wildfield was such a big part of so many lives. Newfoundland was another great part. Her door and her heart were always open and I will miss her deeply!

Mary, Bob and Pat and to all the grandkids and great grandkids:
It's hard to put into words what your mom/grandmother meant to me. She was the kindest and sweetest person that I have had the privilege of knowing. I just loved spending time with her and was grateful to have had the opportunity to spend so many weekends at her home in Barneed. All the cups of tea, the infamous banana bread, her speaking so fondly of the chickadees and juncos that she loved so dearly. Her laugh would sometimes cause her teeth to almost fall out and that would just elicit more laughter. Loved our little excursions down to Bay Roberts to pick up groceries and to just drop into Tims for a 'mug up'. She had such a beautiful soul. As someone said to me, she was a legend. Everyone and anyone that met her was instantly drawn to her and she really left an impression on us all. I will miss knowing that she is no longer with us but am happy that she is now with the angels. My love to you all!!

I so love Mrs.Murphy. Always kind and sweet.
I think of her often.Everytime I carry a cup of coffee or tea I think of her.She told me "to keep it from spilling over don't look at the cup." It really works!.
We had monitors walk the little kids home from school.Janice Ryan was ours (Mary and I) in grade 1 or 2.It was storming horribly and Janis took her group into St.Patricks Church and we all prayed. When we came out there was a huge beautiful rainbow and below it was Mrs.Murphy in a black raincoat and rubber boots come to get us.
I think of her when I see rainbows.
I went Newfoundland to visit my best friend. The day I arrived Mrs Murphy apologized for just having pea soup .Oh my Gosh! Her pea soup was my absolutely favorite dish.As well as her roast beef dinners on Sunday.Always ate at noon.I would have lunch after church at Murphys and another roast beef dinner at home at 6.
I make my own pea soup now and I think of her.
I think of her the 13th of every month. We had to kneel and say the rosary.Usually it was a giggle fest between Mary,Bob and I .I like to think those prayers helped through my life.
My first granbaby almost died when he was born.He shares a birthday with Mrs Murphy.May 19th.I believe her good favor with God helped save him. I believe she is a saint.I think of her every May19th.
I read she said she saw her mother when she was dying.I wonder if it was Mary, the Mother of Jesus.
Mrs. Murphy made a huge impact in my Life.
God bless you Mrs Murphy.Reap your rewards in heaven.

Mary and Sarah.....so very sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. I so enjoyed the stories you shared with staff over the lunch hour of the great times with your Mother. She was so fortunate to have stayed with you in your beautiful home where you cared for her. Today your heart is heavy but I am certain that all the wonderful memories you shared with her will forever keep you close to your Mother and her love.
Hugs.
