My earliest memories of Lorne (Butch) go back to 1959 I was 6 years old and Lorne was probably 12 or 13. As a young kid Lorne already had a towering presence, he had the size to toss me on the back of a Shetland pony and take me for a ride around the barnyard, an absolute thrill for a city kid . Lorne's love of motorcycles began with a Yamaha 305, I was envious and then soon after came the powder blue Pontiac convertible he was so proud to show off. Fortunately for me I was never in a precinct Lorne covered or I might have been taught a life lesson on respect for the law!
My condolences to his family.

I had the pleasure to work with Lorne (Harold) while in uniform patrol with the Durham Regional Police 26 Div. Lorne was the most consistent, dependable and reliable person to work with. Knowing that “Harold” was on duty was very reassuring. He always had your back. He was one of the good guys.
Rest in peace brother.

Lorne the real deal, what you saw is what you got from partners to fishing, hunting, boating, scuba diving and farming there are so many great memories it would take forever to write them down. The sarcasm, humor and straight up no bs manner in which he engaged life was and will ever be how I will remember my friend. How he loved those around him , friends, family and cohorts and the compassion that this seemingly big bull of a man could show was a remarkable trait in his life.
Wayne, Elizabeth my deepest thoughts are with you. The Psalmist says (37:23) "The steps of a good man are ordered by The Lord " Lorne is a "good man" . May he be in peaceful rest and may our Lord comfort you by His presence and of those who will be at your side.
