Obituary of Ruth Marie Franssen

(Graduated 1953 Oshawa General Hospital School of Nursing) Peacefully, on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 83. Ruth (nee Snowdon), dearly loved wife of MJ "Joe" Franssen for 58 years. Devoted mom to Jennifer (Donovan Arnaud), Cynthia (Gary Lucas), Martin, and Valerie (Art Brant). Awesome grandma of Ryan (Ann Marie), Krista (Tyler), Michael (Ashley), Joshua (Genevieve), Melane` (Adam), Jeffrey (Lora), Janna (Ryan), Mia (Corey) and Jake (Lisa). Proud nana of Ava, Mariah, Letti, Pyper, Emmi, Talia and Abigail. Ruth was predeceased by her parents Madeline and Bert and her sister Connie and she is survived by her brother Russ (Ann) Snowdon. The family of Ruth Franssen will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Sunday, August 23rd from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel on Monday, August 24th at 2 p.m. followed by a reception in the Heritage room of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Parkinson Society or the Douglas - Bell Canada Brain Bank.
