Obituary of Eleanor Grace Jackson

In the Spirit of the Lord, Eleanor (nee Hutchinson) peacefully passed away, on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Port Perry Place Nursing Home, at age 79. Beloved wife of George Jackson for 49 years. Loving mother of Kevin (Anita) Jackson of Burketon and Cheryl (Robert) Skarnikat of Oshawa. Devoted grandmother of Mitchell, Shanelle and Hannah. Predeceased by her parents Raymond Hutchinson and Ruby Lobb (Hutchinson) and her stepfather Arnold Lobb. Eleanor was the loving sister of Lenore Hutchinson, Joan O'Brien and Colleen Lush (all deceased). Dear sister-in-law of Patrick O'Brien, David and Nancy Jackson, Lee and Kathleen Wood and the late Bruce Lush. Loved and cherished by her nephews and nieces as well as her great nieces and nephews. Eleanor will be greatly missed by her family and dear friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kevin Smith whose outstanding professional care, kindness and dedication for Eleanor was deeply appreciated. The family would also like to extend their appreciation to the nurses, personal care workers and staff at Port Perry Place Nursing Home who showed Eleanor such compassion and care. Throughout Eleanor's life, she valued her faith, her family and her friends. The family of Eleanor Jackson will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985 2171) on Friday, July 3rd from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Service to Celebrate her life will be held in the Port Perry United Church on Saturday, July 4th at 11 a.m. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Salvation Army.
