Ray was a great man who always had a kind word for everyone. I will miss the friendly chats in Tim Horton's where Ray often took a break and spoke to everyone who came in. A true gentleman who will be missed.

Ray was one of the first friends I made 25 years ago when I came to work here. We met hundreds of times at accident scenes and over a coffee during those years. He was the very first advertiser through the door when I began a new paper. He was a huge supporter of our firefighters and a friend to many. "Uncle Ray" was a good guy and a great pal to me over the years and he will be missed by many more people than he would ever admit to. I know I'll see him again cause I'll need a boost and a tow to get in to heaven and it'll be Ray I call.......

I see Ray's truck around town all the time and it was only on Facebook I saw a notice , with shock, that he had passed.
When I was working at the Port Perry Star on Water Street, and that is so so many years ago, Ray would come by to say hi, or update his advertising.
He rescued my husband Stewart one very very stormy night on Hwy 12 just south of Sonya. Stewart was in the ditch. I called Ray, and it was 'no problem where is he". Always on call.
He will be missed in our town.

To all Unc Rays family I give condolences. Ray was a great man who always helped where he could. From sponsoring a demo car to a 3am tow out of a ditch. He would ask you what you were thinking and then give you proper heck like an unc should. Ray you will be sorely missed. Look up my old man and have a couple with him and talk old times. R.I.P

Ray was a very special man - fair, honest and kind, often helping people who needed a tow truck just because he could. Sometimes he didn't get paid. Sometimes he didn't even get thanked. Yet, it never stopped him from helping someone out the next time he was needed. We are saddened that he is gone but he won't be forgotten.
