Many heartfelt condolences to Lindsey, Jessica, Kathy, Brenda, Karen, Edward, extended family and friends. As a child, John had the sweetest nature and a genuinely loving spirit. I will always fondly recall our years growing up together, a bond made all the more special by the fact that our fathers were twins. He left too soon.

As so many have said, John was always there to lend a helping hand, no questions asked.
He certainly extended that hand to me many times during our days in Claremont, both to fix things, pick me up after a fall and to dance with me to "Brown Eyed Girl". He was my favourite dance partner and when I hear that song wherever I am in the World I think of John.
As families, we enjoyed many wonderful memories at the cottage, Sand Lake and Maple Brae, those memories will stay with the Pyatt's. John cooking his wings to perfection and making us laugh with his antics.
Jess and Lindsay you are in our hearts at this sad time. We will always remember your dad with fondness.
Marilyn, Ashley, Alexandra and Blake.

Dear Bee, Karen, Eddie, Jessica and Lindsay;
I am proud to have known John for almost 50 years. we weren't close, but like so many have said already, he was always ready with a smile and a "Hello, kid!" when I did see him. I know he loved his family deeply. the world has lost a truly gentle soul.

Kathy and I are so sorry to hear of John's passing. He was far too young.
The memories I have of John were, when we were growing up, my family would visit his house and John and I would have the greatest time playing and being mischievous as young kids did. In the later years when we occasionally saw each other, we would reminisce of the fun times we had. He was so easy to talk to; so genuine and as Edward had stated "never judgmental and always accepting". I could not have said it better myself. What I remember most was that genuine boyish grin and his tremendous heart.
Our heartfelt condolences to Lindsay, Jessica, Brenda, Karen and Edward

Just picturing Uncle John's voice, as Ali said, very "gravel" like. Can hear it as clear as a bell in my head. We always used to think that it sounded exactly like him at the beginning of Marvin Gaye's What's Happening. Give it a listen. Lindsay and Jess, lots o love, I know this must be very hard. We'll miss you uncle John

I remember going to your place just to hang out and see you.
You were always so laid back and easy going.
I remember one day, when I got there, you were working on your bike and I asked if I could help. I knew nothing about about motorcycles, and you knew that. You looked at me and said "sure, just pass me the tools as I call for them".
You didn't comment or mention that I knew nothing about fixing motorcyles, you just accepted.
You were always great like that. Always accepting and never judging.
I love you and miss you so much.

Dad-
The thought of having you gone will never be okay. There is so much ahead that I wish you could be here for. Lindsay and I were so lucky to have such a funny-cool dad around to alway have a laugh with. Those are the memories we will always hold close. You are way too young to pass away leaving you unable to watch us grow up even more but I honestly couldn't have a better set of memories all based around laughter and fun to get me through my life. Nick and I were talking this morning about how we have never had a better vacation then when in Cabo for Lindsay and Imrans wedding, getting to spend every day with you doing the things you loved- eating at the best restaurants, out on long boat rides, listening to great love music and just talking about great memories we got to share together. I am so happy this is a recent and vivid memory because it was the best time I have ever had with you. I will always remember you smiling in the nice weather, having the time of your life. As for now we will hold you close with our favourite pictures and memories. I am so sorry for anything you had to go through without us there. I love you very much and will hold you close to me forever. I miss you dad, rest in peace. xoxox Love always Jessy

Still can't believe the news.
John was a kind uncle, and I always liked how he called me kid in his gravely voice.
Canada Day at John's place (removing antennas, handheld fireworks, boating mishaps) were always a blast.
I was fortunate to have some nice conversations with John in recent years.
He will be missed by all that knew him.
Love Alexis

John,
My older brother,
You are an amazing person, and I love you so much.
I am so saddened that you are no longer with us.
I will always remember what a kind, gentle person you were.
Always there for us, and wanting nothing in return.
You loved the simple things in life.
You were a great brother, and you always made it known how proud you were of Lindsay and Jessica and loved them so much.
I am proud to call you my friend, and will remember all the great things about you and special memories you have left with all of us.
XOXO

John, you were always so willing to help others, and yet would never ask for anything in return
You were a great brother, a loving father to your girls, and a loyal friend
I am sad I did not get the chance to say good-bye
I will picture you now, free to do all of the things you loved, riding your custom bike, playing the guitar, and scuba diving till your hearts content
God bless you my brother
Bee
