Obituary of Lorne Albert Mallory
LORNE ALBERT MALLORY ~ ( Veteran WW II R.C.A.F, Retired Toronto Hydro) ~ Peacefully, with his loving family by his side, on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 86. Lorne Mallory of Port Perry, beloved husband of 65 years to Connie (nee Pape). Loving father of Alan Douglas and his wife Ann of Whitby, Robert Lorne (deceased), and his survived daughter-in-law Barbara (Wayne). Cherished and adored grandpa of Robert, James (Melissa), Lindsay (Greg), David (Krista), and great grandpa of Olivia. Predeceased by his brothers Harold and Arthur, his sister Verna Moss, his sister-in-law Elizabeth (Gordon Thompson), and brother-in-law George Pape (Edith). Also missed by his many nieces and nephews. Lorne was a kind man who had many interests and friends. He was never too busy to help anyone build or fix things. He was a ham radio operator for over 50 years. His hobbies were wood carving, fishing, camping, traveling and volunteering with Durham Community Care. He loved his family with pride and we all love and will miss him dearly. The family would like to thank Dr. Mercer and the nurses and staff at Port Perry Hospital for the extraordinary care and kindness Lorne received there over the past 7 weeks. The family of Lorne Mallory will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel" 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Sunday, March 27th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held in the Chapel on Monday, March 28th at 11 a.m. with Reverend Dr. John Sullivan officiating.
