Dawg. . . You helped me hang on when all I wanted to do was let go. You brought me from tears to laughter countless times.Still have the poster of the bike you'd promised to teach me to ride without breaking my neck lol.I remember and cherish the nightly,"Dream Sweet." and would give anything to have you say it just one more time. I carry with me the last conversation, , when you finally told me your given name..we talked of the riding the Indian into to woods.. fishing in the special salmon stream . where they always run and know no season. My only regret is the promise you had me make that I am honor bound to keep.I trust you will keep yours to me.You live in the hearts of so many dear friend Ralph.. Still say if I ever get a goat it'll carry your name even if a female lol. Loving you Dawg. . you really did bring light to my life ya know. .

I just found out about Ralph,,,I cannot even express the sadness I feel. I spent a lot of time with Ralph and the gang in late 89 and early 90's. He taught me to drive stick in Sauble Beach in his brand new convertable. I remember spending time with Boo. You were the light of his life. I will never forget him,,So sorry for your loss!

I just wanted to put in writing, what Ralph meant to me: - He has been a large and positive impact on so many who knew him and I know I can honestly say that a large proportion of the person I am today is thanks to his positive impact on my father who loved him like a brother. He was a terrific listener and would always make sure to see how I was every time I saw him (although i did not see him as frequently as I got older), and it takes a very special person to care as much for others as he did. - I also wanted to say that each time I think of him I always know Ralpher would never want me to cry for him, but would love it if I just thought about a good time I shared with him, said "love ya buds" and went on with my day knowing that he is with everyone of us, at all times, whenever we need him. I will never forget Ralph nor will anyone else that knew him. "Love ya buds" - Bryon

Where to Start.... Jenna your Father was such a loving, giving man. Cared very deeply for you as you know. He shared with me the other day of how you text him and said you were wearing his socks, he chuckled because he too was wearing your socks ( he found the match to the black sock on the dryer ) Its that connection he shared with you all your life as he shared of this amazing young lady through many stories. I can hear his laughter now when I think of him sharing. My Thoughts and Prayers are with you and yours. ** Ralph... You were the Sunshine of my Life and I will miss you always, All my Love, Rena **

On behalf of nearly 200 members of United Steel Workers Local 8918, I send our respects and condolences to Jenna and all of Ralph's family. Ralph was a fierce defender of worker's rights and served this Union for decades. We regularly saw the fighter, as Ralph challenged the Corporate agenda and put himself between a worker and the company. Occasionally we could get a glimpse of his kinder side, when he talked about the light of his life, Jenna. His dedication to his fellow man and his love of his daughter is, I think, what most of us will remember. Goodbye brother Shaw, may you find the peace and justice you sought after for so long. T. Scurrah, President, USW Local 8918, Cambridge, Ontario.
