I just learned today that Susan passed away. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I met Susan in 1973 when I started teaching at R. H. Cornish in Port Perry. Susan was a wonderful friend and mentor to me during the two years I was there. I will always remember Susan's sense of humour and her wonderful ability to make everyone feel that you had known her all your life. While we stayed in touch mainly at Christmas through the years, I will miss her and am grateful to have known her.

My sincerest sympathy to "Miss Adderley's" family and friends. I was privileged enough to have "Miss A." as a teacher...mostly in the context of teacher librarian. I have very vivid and fond memories of her reading to my primary class from Dennis Lee's book of poems, one of her favourite kids' authors. She especially loved "Suzie had a moustache, a moustache, a moustache, Suzie had a moustache and Polly had a beard...". I, to this day, share this poem every year with my own students. As a teacher now, I particularly appreciate her humour, her approachability, and genuine love of kids. What a woman!

What a huge loss for our students at R.H.Cornish P.S. Although I was not teaching at Cornish before her retirement, she was always requested by my students as the supply teacher of choice. What a beautiful personality and overall great person. Eric and Cameron have often asked over the past years where the "supply teacher with the pretzels" went to. She was their favourite as well. Rest in peace, Susan. You will be missed by so many kids as well as myself.

Our sympathies on your loss. Susan taught both of our children (Eric and Erin) and was always one of their special teachers, not be forgotten. We reconnected when we both volunteered for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Susan remembered our family and was eager to hear news of how "the kids" were doing. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her beautiful spirit. Thinking of you at this time, Pat and Gord Bird

I only learned last Friday of Susan's illness and to now see that such a wonderful woman has be taken so soon breaks my heart. I was blessed to have had Miss Adderley as a teacher when I was a student at R.H.Cornish and was over joyed when my own children had the opportunity to be taught by this special woman. She remembered every child she came in contact with, even after some of us were no longer so little. I hope that right now she is sitting in a rocker reading books to the special children she will now be watching over in Heaven. Thank you for the wonderful memories, Kim

To the family of Ms. Adderly We are very sorry to hear about Ms.Adderlys Death. As former students at R.H. Cornish Public School, we thought she was a great teacher. She gave us pretzels for every piece of garbage we picked up at the end of class. She made up a song for my sister's name (Shelby... Comin' around the mountain when she comes) Every time she saw her she sang it and it made us laugh. I Considered her a great friend and she was extremely funny we enjoyed her company so much. She was one of our favourite teachers. We will miss her very much and will always remember her. Sincerely Yours Lucas Salverson, Shelby Salverson.

We want to send our condolences to everyone; Pat, Terry, Mike, & all their wonderful kids and grand kids. Susan was always so happy and full of life. When our mom would get together with Susan, they would reminisce and laugh for hours about great times spent together as kids and then as adults. My Dad, Craig could always count on Susan to laugh with and she was very good at keeping in touch when my mom died. Heather and I want to say thanks to Susan for being who she was, a strong, fun, dedicated person. We always enjoyed our surprize trips on Bigelow coming home from our friends' cottage. Susan's positive outlook and amazing sense of humour will be missed.
