Today, families and friends want to use new and unique ways to memorialize their deceased loved ones. They want something personal, heartfelt, and something that can help with the grieving process. Here are some unique and interesting ways to memorialize a loved one and offer comfort to guests and family members:

1. Create a Memorial Garden

Gardens are beautiful living entities that grow, bloom, and offer a peaceful break from indoor environments. They’re a great way to memorialize a decedent because anyone can spend time in the garden and feel connected to their loved one. A memorial garden also has a great meaning as it represents nature, growth, life, and hope, which can offer solace to the loved ones left behind. Planting a garden is also an eco-friendly way to memorialize a loved one.

2. Commission Artwork that Represents Them

Art is an expression of the soul and can offer a great deal of comfort. People have been using art to memorialize decedents for centuries and it’s still a very popular option. Families can engage local artists and ask them to create an art piece that represents the deceased person. It doesn’t have to be a portrait of the person; it can be a sculpture, a glass figurine, or anything creative.

3. Create Memorial Jewelry

Memorial jewelry is a great and very personal way to memorialize a loved one. People who wear jewelry always keep it close to them, this can offer comfort during the grieving process and can bring back great memories for years down the line. Loved ones can create a locket to store the decedent’s picture in or choose a design that represents their loved one.
