Does A Funeral Service Have To Be Held In A Funeral Home Or Church?

There are two different events following a person's death: viewings and funerals. The body is presented before burial, and people can pay their respects to the deceased. Attendees can meet the decedent's family an hour before the service.

Typical funeral visitation will last four hours and is customarily held the day before the burial in some cultures. Close family members may attend a brief service during the final hour of the visitation. We understand that clients have many questions regarding funeral services and where to conduct them. Additional information is available from Wagg Funeral Home.

There Is No Requirement For Church Service

It is not required to have the funeral ceremony in a church. It would help if you ascertained your cherished one's religious allegiance. If not, consider if it is something they would like. Many persons perform the funeral ceremony at a funeral home chapel. If the departed has chosen cremation, the family could decide to forego a traditional service.

The family can organize a memorial service or celebration of life as an alternative. Bear in mind that not all locations or facilities will allow the presence of a casket, and the reception at the funeral home will be far more intimate and unforgettable. If you choose not to have a church funeral, you will need to select a location for the service. Once again, it is critical to consider the deceased's desires.

Funerals encompass a wide variety of options and facets, and we're here to assist you with all of the required details and arrangements. If you need any additional information, feel free to call us and speak with the funeral director at Wagg Funeral Home.
