Do You Need A Casket For Your Funeral?

We at Wagg Funeral Home recognize that there are many decisions to make when planning a funeral service for a deceased loved one. However, many people today also like to pre-plan their funeral and this is a growing trend. When you preplan, you can discuss all your requirements and preferences with the funeral director and understand what services they provide as well.

This professional will help guide your choices and will ensure that you get the kind of package and services you want. When you are planning all the details of your service, you would also have to decide whether you want a casket.

Types of Funeral Caskets

At Wagg Funeral Home, we have seen that many people wonder whether they need a casket for the funeral. The answer to that is a yes, but caskets made of hardwood and metals can be expensive. You don’t have to always get one of these and can opt for something simple as well. If you are planning on cremation, then a simple cardboard casket will serve the purpose.

On the other hand, if you are opting for a burial then you might want to look at the other better casket options that the funeral home has. These are typically offered through third party providers and there are several different types to choose from, such as:

  • Wood
  • Manufactured Wood
  • Metal
  • Semi-Metal
  • Biodegradable

Depending on your requirements and budget, you can opt for a standard or customized casket. The latter can be made with combination materials, motifs, and any embellishments you want. Most funeral homes will have a selection of caskets to choose from and you can pick the one that best suits your needs.

If you want to know about our funeral preplanning or burial/cremation services, don't hesitate to contact us at Wagg Funeral Home today and we'll be happy to help.
